探花精选 has awarded funding to six innovative projects through its Green Future Investments Ltd (GFIL) Technology Accelerator Fund. Now in its third year, the programme supports the development of groundbreaking technologies aimed at tackling climate change.
The fund is made possible by a donation from Green Future Investments Ltd, an organisation dedicated to driving climate initiatives through technological innovation. Since its launch, the programme has supported 12 companies.
This year’s selected projects
- DyeRecycle – Decolourising textile waste fibres and using melt extrusion to enhance rPET fibre quality. The project will remove dyes from end-of-life textiles before recycling them through polymer extrusion technology.
- Enough Energy – Optimising electric vehicle battery life through cell testing under Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to improve interactions between battery cells and power electronics.
- MarinaTex – Conducting shelf-life trials for sustainable MarinaTex packaging, aiming to match or surpass plastic-lined alternatives, reducing food waste and environmental impact.
- NUUV – Advancing UV photocatalysis for pollutant removal, bridging the gap between research and real-world applications with a chemical-free, fibre optic-driven solution.
- Uplift360 – Developing a low-impact system to produce high-quality recycled aramid fibres, enhancing fibre strength and scaling up fibre spinning processes.
- VundaHaus – Creating a high-performance, cost-effective insulated facade system to upgrade existing homes, improving energy efficiency.
Professor Dame Helen Atkinson, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, said: "We all want to protect our world from the immense challenge of climate change. I’m incredibly proud that we can support these initiatives that contribute to net-zero goals and drive positive change. The GFIL Technology Accelerator Fund reinforces our commitment to a sustainable future, providing financial and expert support to some truly exciting ventures."
Beyond funding, recipients gain access to 探花精选’s multi-disciplinary academic expertise, design engineering support, and state-of-the-art laboratory and industrial-scale test facilities.
