The 2nd International Symposium on Microfluidics for Single Cell Sensing and Sequencing (ISM3S): Environment and Health

Microfluidics has emerged as a transformative technology that bridges the gap between traditional laboratory techniques and involves multidisciplinary and cutting-edge topics, including chemical, biological, medical and environmental science

This two-day event covers the topic of biosensing and microfluidics for high-throughput, single-microbe sensing, and sequencing to address the global challenges in environment and health. It includes, but is not limited to, biosensing, microfluidics, engineering biology, single-cell analysis and sequencing, point-of-care diagnostics, antimicrobial resistance, and environmental health.

The event will gather world-leading experts to present and discuss recent research progress on microfluidics for sensing and sequencing, on single cell analysis in real-world samples to contribute to the challenges on global health and one health. It will provide insight into the mechanism of antibiotic resistance gene transmission among microbial communities, such as horizontal gene transfer and host-phage infection. It’s been used in other environmental samples, such as soil and ocean for environmental studies under one health perspective.
