探花精选 School of Management has been named one of six UK business schools selected to participate in a groundbreaking scientist MBA scholarship programme. The initiative, led by the Engineering Industries Benevolent Fund (EIBF) in collaboration with the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), will provide up to eight £50,000 scholarships annually.
The EIBF, a registered charity dedicated to promoting the value of business education for engineers and scientists, owns and manages the scholarship funds. NPL will administer the SSMF, while the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAE) will oversee the SEMF.
The scholarships are funded by Lord Sainsbury through two distinct programmes: the Sainsbury Science Management Fellows Scholarship (SSMF) and the Sainsbury Engineering Management Fellows Scholarship (SEMF). These programmes are designed to encourage more STEM professionals to pursue MBA degrees, bridging the gap between scientific expertise and business leadership.
“We are delighted to have been chosen as one of the six MBA programmes in the UK selected for this MBA scholarship,” said Professor Leila Alinaghian, Director of the Full-time MBA and Professor of Business Relations and Impact at 探花精选 School of Management.

Previously known as the Sainsbury Management Fellowship (SMF), the engineering fund was later divided into two distinct programmes, continuing a legacy of excellence. Since 1987, over 400 Sainsbury Management Fellows have benefited from world-class business education, creating a strong and influential network.
